Most of your data never leaves your machine.

Alo Invest runs locally, in your terminal. Your research prompts, the model’s responses, your strategies, backtests, portfolio files, and API keys stay on your machine. We do not receive them, store them, or train on them. What we do hold is the minimum needed to run a subscription: your email, a license key, and Stripe’s references to your subscription.

Anthropic. The agent calls the Anthropic API with your own API key, directly from your machine. Your prompts and the data the agent gathers for you go to Anthropic under youragreement with them — not through our servers. Anthropic’s privacy policy governs that traffic.

Market-data providers. Quotes, fundamentals, and news are fetched directly from the providers you configure (e.g. Alpaca, Perplexity, Tavily, Binance, public market-data endpoints), using your own keys where required. Those requests carry the symbols being researched, not your identity beyond what your keys imply.

Alomana. The only calls the software makes to us are license checks: your license key is sent to our validation endpoint at activation and periodically afterwards. No prompts, no portfolio contents, no usage analytics, no telemetry.

When you subscribe, we store a license record: your license key, its status and plan tier, and Stripe’s identifiers for your customer and subscription. When you subscribe to the memo list or make a purchase, we hold your email address so we can deliver the license key and the memos you asked for.

Free-trial usage is counted in a local file on your machine. We have no server-side record of your trial queries.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never touches our systems; we see only the subscription state Stripe reports (active, canceled, past due) and the email you used at checkout. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data.

This website is hosted on Vercel (standard server logs — IP address, user agent, pages requested). License records live in a managed key-value store (Upstash). Transactional email (license keys, memos) is sent through Resend. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

This site does not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Any cookies present are functional ones set by the infrastructure above (e.g. Stripe’s checkout).

License records are kept while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting. Email us to have your license record and email removed; note that Stripe retains transaction records as required by law. To remove everything local, delete the ~/.alo-invest directory and your workspace — it is all plain files on your disk.

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you. Given how little we hold, the fastest path is simply to email us — we will respond to any such request.
